Global honour for Bahrain Duty Free
Bahrain Duty Free has been named best in the world for marketing by the Cannes Duty Free Festival.
Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa hailed the prestigious award as a testimony to the international standard of Bahrain International Airport.
He was speaking as he received Deputy Premier Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and Duty Free managing director and vice-chairman Abdullah Buhindi.
The Premier acknowledged the crucial role of Bahrain Duty Free and Civil Aviation Affairs whose efforts, he said, yielded awards for the airport.
"This success story also reflects the government's resolve to continuously upgrade services," the Premier said.
He also hailed the extension, which will be opened soon.
The Premier praised Bahraini cadres for their outstanding airport management.
He also praised airport-based companies, which "gain expertise and know-how through their contact with leading companies in the world."
